We Ask the Right Questions
From our over 20 years of finding the best technical writers, exclusively, we have perfected a process for uncovering exactly the knowledge and experience you need. A Database with over 1,000 Screened Technical Writers
Since 1981, we have advertised for, personally met, and ranked technical writers. Our database allows us to search for particular knowledge you may need: NAS, routers, Java, ASICS, VoIP—whatever area you need experience in. We have a detailed record on each writer in our database which gives us their level of FrameMaker skill, home city, salary requirement, checked or unchecked boxes for current technical knowledge.
We Rate Each Writer
Our recruiters can see an overall rating for each writer. This numerical ranking tells a Recruiter how suitable you will find a particular candidate to work in your company. It takes their long-term job experience in high-tech companies, technical knowledge, tools experience, and personality all into account. We only send you the good ones.
You See Resumes, Free of Charge
Once we have determined that one of our qualified writers will accept an offer from you for either a contract or a staff, permanent job, we send you their resume. You must contact us to arrange to phone screen or meet one of our candidates.
We Arrange Phone Screens or Personal Interviews
We set up all interview times for you (at times you designate), give the candidate directions, and—if you wish—call their references, type up comments, and send you what their references have to say about them.
When You Decide to Hire Our Candidate
If you offer a candidate we sent you a staff, permanent job, we invoice you for a percentage of their first year’s starting salary.
If you hire a contract writer from us, we pay the contractor as our W2 employee and bill you for their hours, recorded on a TechWriters time sheet. If your company requires that we do so, we add you to our general liability insurance. We pay all payroll tax and worker’s compensation costs.
If for any reason you do not find the work of the contract writer satisfactory, you call us and do not sign the contract writer’s time sheet for that period.
Management and Follow Up
After you have hired a TechWriter writer, we stay very much involved. The Account Manager for your contract calls and follows up with both you and the writer. Often, our Owner, Dorothy TechWriter, meets with a client and helps them plan a documentation project.
